Soteras repeats presidency by winning by 26 votes to Talavera

Up to 1,041 football clubs in Catalonia, which represents 85.32% of those with the right to vote, participated in massive elections for the presidency of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF). A throne that will finally have the same tenant as in previous years. Joan Soteras was the candidate who obtained the most support, although he won with a small margin over Álex Talavera, who had positioned himself as the strongest opposition together with former CE Europa president Juanjo Isern.

Finally, Soteras added 396 votes, to Talavera’s 370 and Isern’s 238. Pep Palacios was in fourth place with only 23 votes. “The match is over and we have won. It was a tough campaign, we were all at a great level”, Soteras said. The candidates congratulated the winner after a campaign full of vicissitudes. Talavera himself commented on his social networks that “this serves as a turning point to improve the conditions of the clubs and the image of the FCF”.

Isern highlighted the “high turnout” and all the support received during this campaign, in which many issues have been put on the table such as removing the federation from the courts or lowering fees and taxes for sports entities.
