Roberto Soldado will continue at Granada for one more season. The forward played the first half at Old Trafford and thus completed his 25th game of the season disputing at least 45 minutes. That was the condition that appeared in the automatic renewal clause of his contract, revealed by AS, which will be automatically extended until June 30, 2022 as long as Granada certifies permanence in the First Division (currently it has 39 points and has 13 of advantage over descent).
The forward showed his firm desire to continue in Los Cármenes after the return game against Manchester United: “Of course I want to continue here. We are about to get the permanence and hopefully I can be here next year ”.
With his renewal practically guaranteed, Soldado also made public his main wish for the next season: the continuity of Diego Martínez and his work team. “I want to continue enjoying this club, my teammates and hopefully the coaching staff. The club has been growing by leaps and bounds these years, but there is a lot of work behind it and we have to continue to maintain this level. What I want is to enjoy the day to day and I am doing it and enjoying it to the fullest surrounded by wonderful people, great professionals. With perspective, when time passes, we will realize what we have lived, “he said.
The coach, asked about his future, cleared the corner and returned to call at the end of the season to communicate his decision: “The focus should be on the extraordinary work the entire team has done. There are still eight games left, that in football is a world, we are going to enjoy and when the end of the season arrives it will be time to stop, calm down and analyze and think about everything we have experienced. We have been like this since September, three games a week, non-stop, and this continues. There are eight games left and we have a lot ahead of us ”.
