Sevilla and Betis face their moods in the Pizjuán derby

MADRID, 11 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Sevilla FC and Real Betis face this Sunday at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán (6:30 p.m.), on the thirteenth day of LaLiga EA Sports, a Sevillian derby that they attend in opposite situations, with the green and white exultant in Europe and in continental positions in the domestic competition and with the Nervionenses almost ruled out in the ‘Champions’ and close to the relegation positions.

Nine points separate both teams in the league championship, and the difference in feelings is even wider. Manuel Pellegrini’s men are sixth with 20 points, one away from fifth place, and have accumulated no less than eleven games without losing in all competitions – seven in LaLiga, since the defeat against Barça on September 16 -.

In the Europa League, they comfortably lead Group C ahead of Rangers and have a foot and a half in the round of 16, especially after signing their third consecutive continental victory this Thursday at home against Aris Limassol (4-1).

Only the injury to Chilean goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, which together with that suffered by Portuguese Rui Silva will force Fran Vieites to start this Sunday, marred the fantastic night against the Cypriot team. The Seville team will also not be able to count on the injured Marc Bartra and Youssouf Sabaly.

Opposite, the Sevilla team arrives at the event touched by the new defeat against Arsenal (2-0), which leaves them bottom of Group B in the Champions League. Except in the Copa del Rey, where they beat the modest Quintanar of the Order, Diego Alonso has not managed to win since he arrived on the bench.

In fact, the team has gone eight games without winning, five already with the Uruguayan coach in charge: the league draws against Real Madrid (1-1), Cádiz (2-2) and Celta (1-1) and the two defeats against the gunners. In LaLiga, these results have dragged them down to fifteenth place, with the danger positions four points below their 11.

Neither the Norwegian Örjan Nyland – whose injury returned Serbian Marko Dmitrovic’s place in the eleven – nor Alfonso Pastor will be available, while the injured Marcao and Fernando Reges, due to the death of a family member in a traffic accident, are doubtful. In return, Sergio Ramos and Boubakary Soumaré are ready.
