Seven Spanish medals at the French Para Open 2023

The Spanish delegation closed its participation in the French Para Open 2023 this Sunday with a positive balance of seven medals, three golds and four bronzes in a Factor 40 tournament.

In the MD18 category, the pair formed by Jorge Cardona and Ander Cepas won gold without giving up a single set, beating the Chinese Lian and Zhao in the final. For their part, Iker Sastre and Miguel Ángel Toledo also took gold in the MD4 category, with a 3-1 against the Czech Martin Zvolanek and the Polish Tomasz Jakimczuk.

Meanwhile, Daniel Rodríguez won the bronze, after reaching the semifinals, along with Christopher Ryan. In addition, Eduardo Cuesta, together with the Polish Maciej Makajew, took gold in the MD22 class in a unique group, finishing first with three wins and one loss.

Alejandro Díaz and Alberto Seoane reached the semifinals in the MD14 class, obtaining a creditable bronze after losing to the Chinese Liao and Yan, while Álvaro Valera added one more bronze to the Spanish medal table in the individual class 6, after beating Thomas Raul by 3 -1 in the quarterfinals and lose to Matteo Parenzan in the semifinals.

For his part, Eduardo Cuesta shone again, getting another bronze in class 11 after beating the Frenchman Antoine Zhao in the quarterfinals and losing to the Japanese Takeshi Takemori in the semifinals.
