Sanyo-Tapia and Triay-Salazar, winners of the Estrella Damm Valencia Open 2022

The Estrella Damm València Open 2022 ended this Sunday at La Fonteta with two epic finals that crowned Agustín Tapia and Sanyo Gutiérrez, in their fourth title, and Gemma Triay and Ale Salazar, in what was the best match of the year.

The Argentines Sanyo and Tapia came from behind against the number ones Lebrón and Galán, to achieve victory in three sets (2-6, 7-5, 6-4) and their fourth title of the 2022 season. ahead in the final, but the reaction was total from their rivals.

With a ‘break’ for 7-5, Sanyo and Tapia sent the final to the third set, to the delight of the Valencian public in the Pabellón de la Fuente de San Luis. The Spanish duo had the serve to win but the Argentines came back to be champions again.

Meanwhile, the numbers one Gemma Triay and Ale Salazar stayed in a final of three and a half hours, with a ‘tie-break’ in the third set, against Tamara Icardo and Delfi Brea, to win their seventh title of 2022. The ninth test Open of the 2022 season was decided in a real battle, reissue of the 2021 final.
