Sanxenxo hosts the Galicia Tourism Trophy of the 6 Meter League this weekend

MADRID, 13 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The waters of the Pontevedra town of Sanxenxo will host from this Friday to Sunday the Galicia Tourism Trophy, the fourth series of the 6 Meter League that started on March 6 and will be a new meeting for the main favorites of the Classics division .

The ‘Bribon’ and the ‘Titia’, both with the RCN of Sanxenxo, with King Juan Carlos or Jane Abascal and Mauricio Sánchez-Bella respectively as patrons of both teams, as well as the ‘Alibaba’, with the colors of the MRCY from Baiona and under the leadership of Miguel Lago, are the teams that dominate after the first three series.

Another team that is showing a great role is Francisco Botas’ ‘Aida’ (RCN de La Coruña), which with Javier de la Gándara as skipper and despite the fact that a couple of breaks in strong winds forced him to retire in some rounds, he always shows its great potential in light winds.

The ‘Stardust’ (RCNS) of Andrés Campos, the ‘Ian’ (RCNS) of César Elízaga and the ‘Essentia’ (CYC Constanta) of Catalin Trandafir are other of the classics of the League and that always have their opportunity to place themselves in the places of honor if any of the teams on the podium fail or suffer a breakdown.

This weekend will once again measure the main boats of this division ahead of the Rey Juan Carlos-El Corte Inglés Master Regatta and the European Championship, the two big events of the year that will be held between September 27 and on October 5 and that will make Galicia one of the great references of European sailing with almost fifty teams representing a dozen countries.

The event will consist of three days of competition with a maximum of six tests to be held between Friday and Sunday. On Friday the heats will begin at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
