Santi Aldama shines in the ‘revenge’ of the Grizzlies against the Clippers

Ricky Rubio and Usman Garuba sign discreet performances

MADRID, 1 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish power forward Santi Aldama has contributed this morning to the victory of the Memphis Grizzlies over the Los Angeles Clippers (108-94), in an NBA day in which point guard Ricky Rubio fell with the Cleveland Cavaliers against the New York Knicks (116-130 ) and in which Usman Garuba was barely able to play in the bottom duel between the Houston Rockets and Detroit Pistons (121-115).

In the second consecutive game against the Angels at the FedExForum in Memphis, the Tennessees, second in the Western Conference (49-28) and already classified for the ‘Playoffs’, avenged the previous day’s defeat against Tyronn’s Lue, who interrupted his streak of seven consecutive wins.

All in a match with point guard Desmond Bane as the leading scorer, with 22 points, and with Aldama establishing himself as the fourth top scorer for the Grizzlies; the Canarian interior scored 13 points -4 of 9 shots from the field and 5 of 5 from the personal line-, grabbed eight rebounds and put a block in the 16 minutes he was on the field.

Meanwhile, the Knicks, fifth in the East (45-33), approached the postseason after surprising the ‘Cavs’ (48-30) at home, fourth and already with the ticket obtained. Jalen Brunson’s 48 points guided the New Yorkers to victory.

Rubio, for his part, signed a very discreet game and didn’t even come out on the track in the second half, surpassed in the rotation by Raulzinho Neto. The man from El Masnou signed two points after achieving 1 of 3 shots from the field and distributed two assists in nine minutes of play.

Finally, in the bottom duel, the last of the West, Houston Rockets (19-59), beat the ‘red lantern’ of the East, Detroit Pistons (16-61), in a game in which the Spanish Usman Garuba he failed to score in five minutes of participation.
