Salihamidzic: “Lewandowski told me he would like to leave Bayern”

MADRID, 14 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The sporting director of Bayern Munich, Hasan Salihamidzic, has confirmed that the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has chosen “not to accept” the offer to renew his contract, which ends in 2023, and that he has reported that he wants to “leave the club” , a movement that could bring him closer to FC Barcelona.

“I spoke with ‘Lewa’. In the conversation he told me that he did not want to accept our offer to renew the contract and that he would like to leave the club. He said he would like to do something else,” Salihamidzic acknowledged to Sky Sport, without revealing which teams would like to call on the Polish international.

However, the Bosnian leader explained that the attitude of the German entity remains the same and that they continue to bet on it staying. “Our attitude has not changed: ‘Lewa’ has a contract until June 30, 2023. That is a fact,” he said.

On Friday, the coach of the Bavarian team, Julian Nagelsmann, assured that the Pole was part of his plans. “The club’s attitude is known, my attitude towards Robert and the contract situation,” he then pointed out.

Lewandowski is currently the top scorer in the Bundesliga having scored 34 goals in 33 games, as well as racking up 13 goals in the Champions League.
