The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, was proud of the success of the U-19 women’s team that won the European title after beating Norway.
“It has cost because the Norwegians had a great team, but we have been better. We have a team that we are proud of and I am very excited and delighted because all Spanish football and women’s football deserve it. I’m very happy,” said Rubiales.
The president of the RFEF indicated that if the teams are invested and provided with tools, success will come. “We have spent years trying to invest and showing that, when they are given the tools, just like the boys, they achieve sensational results. We have just come from a victory in the absolute European Championship and now this. The truth is that we return to Madrid to give them the tribute they deserve”, he pointed.
Happy was the coach, Pedro López, which stressed that what seemed like a dream at first became reality. “They are European champions. What seemed like a dream a long time ago, this team has come together and has seen that it had no limits and has finished the tournament undefeated. It’s a wonderful team and I am glad that it is marked as champions this season”, he insisted.
“I feel happy and fortunate to live this experience with this great team. All the preparation and effort is paying off now. It is a happy day that we must thank all the people who have made it possible”, recalled the Spanish coach.
