Rubén Blanco leaves on loan from Celta to Olympique de Marseille

The sky-blue youth squad renewed a few days ago with the Vigo team until 2027

BARCELONA, 20 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

RC Celta and Olympique de Marseille closed an agreement this Wednesday for the loan of goalkeeper Rubén Blanco, a sky-blue academy player who a few days ago sealed his renewal at the Vigo team until 2027.

“The club wants to wish Rubén great success during the 2022/23 campaign in the historic French team in Ligue 1,” reported the club from Vigo about Blanco, who will compete for the position at Olympique de Marseille with Spaniard Pau López.

Rubén Blanco made his debut in an official match with the first team on May 26, 2013. At only 17 years old, the youth squad stepped onto the pitch at Zorrilla to replace the injured Javi Varas and put on a fantastic performance to score a key victory to achieve permanence in that season.

Since then, Rubén has played 120 more games in the First Division for a total of 142 matches with the light blue shirt in the League, Cup and ‘Europa League’.
