The Italian sports justice decided this Friday to give Roma a 3-0 loser for having made one more change, six instead of five, in their match against Spezia in the second round of the Coppa Italia on Tuesday. In fact, Spezia won 2-4 after extra time. In the same Rome gave entry to Daniel Fuzato by Bryan Cristante and Roger Ibáñez by Pedro, although previously he had already made four changes.
These substitutions took place in a chaotic final match after two Roma players, Gianluca Mancini and Pau López, had been sent off 30 seconds apart.
In September, Roma was already a loser against Verona in Serie A, also 3-0, as the ‘giallorosso’ team admitted a player who was not registered, in this case Amadou Diawara.
Paulo Fonseca, coach of Roma, assured that his team and the new owners of the club (Dan Friedkin and his son Ryan) are with him. “I feel like I have their support. Despite the difficulties, I am not one to lower my arms, “said Fonseca.
