Rice wants Christian McCaffrey to break the record for most touchdowns in a single season.

It’s possible that no other player in NFL history has as many records and achievements as the legendary 49ers wide out Jerry Rice.

He is in the NFL’s Hall in Fame because of how great his career was, and many people still call him the best football player ever.

Most of his career records probably won’t be broken any time soon. Christian McCaffrey, a running back for the 49ers, is almost ready to break one of their team marks.

McCaffrey scored his 20th touchdown about the season in Week 15, putting him only three behind Rice’s record of 23 in 1987.

It’s possible for San Francisco to score four touchdowns in their last three games, and Rice wants that to happen.

Rice was on the Warner House show with 49ers LB Fred Warner declared he wanted McCaffrey to score 24 touchdowns.

It’s okay, you know. Okay, I have a lot of records now. I’m happy to share some of those records.

“Yes. “Because I think records need to be broken,” Rice said. “What he brings to the table—from the line of scrimmage, running with the ball, catching it, scoring touchdowns—he does it all, man.”

It is important to note that Rice scored 23 touchdowns in only 12 games, but the marks will still stand. Also, Rice said he holds numerous records and wouldn’t mind if a present 49ers great got one.

“It’s fun to break records,” Rice told Warner. “I was lucky to play with so many great players, and I think CMC is going through the same thing.” He’s also a great person and a great baseball player. He works diligently, so it’s fine.

McCaffrey has scored an average of 1.3 touchdowns per game this season, both on the ground and through the air.

That puts him on track to have 3.9 (or 4.0 if we’re being exact) in the team’s last three games, against the Ravens, the Commanders, and the Rams.

One of Jerry Rice’s historic records could be broken by a present 49ers player. Rice set many records during his long and successful NFL career.

McCaffrey has recorded 20 touchdowns so far this NFL season, just two short of Jerry Rice’s record of 22 touchdowns scored in a single season for the 49ers in 1987.

Fred Warner, an All-Pro linebacker for the 49ers, asked Rice on the show “The Warner House” if he wants to observe the previous record broken.

When I’m out on the field at a baseball game, I make sure to walk over and say hello to him. I like to talk to the other players.

It was revealed that the famous wide receiver wants McCaffrey to score even more touchdowns because he admires how dynamic the great running back makes the 49ers’ offense.

Rice told Warner, “Yes, because I think records were intended to be broken.” “What he brings to the table—from the line of scrimmage, running with the ball, catching it, scoring touchdowns—he does it all, man.” He does everything.

“I was lucky to have so many talented athletes around me because records are meant to be broken.”

I think the same thing is going on with [McCaffrey]. A lot of great players were around me, which was a blessing. I think McCaffrey is getting the same thing.

He is a great all-around baseball player who works very hard and is very humble. That’s fine; that’s fine. Okay, I have a lot of records now. I’m happy to share some of those records.”

Rice holds almost every major career receiving record in NFL history, including the most receiving touchdowns (197), receiving yards (22,895), or receptions (1,549). He also holds the 49ers’ single-season touchdown mark.

The 49ers beat the Arizona Cardinals 45–29 on Sunday, and All-Pro running back McCaffrey scored three touchdowns in the game.

This gave him a big help in his quest to break Rice’s single-season record. Brock Purdy named McCaffrey the MVP because of how well he played in Arizona.

He has scored at least a single touchdown in all but two of the 14 games he has played this season.

With three games left, McCaffrey looks like he will record the most touchdowns in school history, beating Rice’s record that has stood for more than 35 years.
