Raquel Carrera: “We have to give one hundred percent this month to see what is expected of us”

MADRID, 22 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The center of the Spanish basketball team, Raquel Carrera, is clear that in preparation for next month’s Eurobasket they must “give one hundred percent to see what is expected” from each of the internationals, while Paula Ginzo celebrated that all have been incorporated “with charged batteries”.

“Here there are many very good players at the national level and I believe that each one of us has to give our one hundred percent during this month to see what is expected of us and what we can give to the team,” Carrera said in statements provided by the FEB after training this Monday.

The Valencia Basket player stated that they are “very good and very comfortable” in the concentration that they are taking to Vigo. “They are treating us very well and the truth is that concentration, training and everything, very well,” she confessed.

Carrera was also “very happy” to return to Vigo, where he played for RC Celta. “I have been here for four years of training and for me it has been special. In the end, I have grown as a player here and it is where I discovered that I was going to be a professional player, so for me to return to training in Navia is very nice”, he remarked .

For her part, her partner Paula Ginzo acknowledged that this concentration is “above all exciting”. “I think that we have all come with our batteries charged, some of us had more rest, others a little less, but I think that the illusion is the same, from the first to the last,” she pointed out.

“I think it’s going well and I think Miguel (Méndez, coach) is happy. We know that a little more cohesion is needed, a little more hours of training, but I think that everything is on the path that it has to be and just we need more hours of training,” he added.

The Durán Maquinaria Ensino player declared that the coach asks “all of them more or less the same thing.” “Obviously each one within her role and each one within her importance in the team, but we are all important from the first to the last,” she said.

“Miguel is a coach with whom I have more or less confidence because I know him from the lower categories and the truth is that I am very happy that he is the coach,” Ginzo said of the Galician coach.
