Ramón Planes, new sports director of Real Betis

Real Betis announced this Monday the arrival at the club of Ramón Planes to be the new sports director of the Verdiblanco club, in a “first level” bet to try to achieve the sporting goals for future seasons.

“Real Betis Balompié has incorporated Ramón Planes as the new sports director of the Club until June 2026,” the Betis club announced in a statement.

The Real Betis board of directors is committed to Ramón Planes for being a “world-class professional” and for being able to achieve his sporting objectives.

“He has stood out in his career for his work in training and attracting talent, a profile that fits perfectly with the club’s commitment to the youth academy and good football,” said the Betic club.

Under his sports management, in the past, Planes contributed to the signings of players like Ansu Fati, Gavi, Balde, Pedri or Ronald Araujo, at FC Barcelona. “Likewise, he has a special impact on the management of the main elements that intervene in the daily work of the first team and youth football,” said Betis.

Planes began his career in offices in 1999 at CE L’Hospitalet, and before reaching Benito Villamarín he spent time at Racing Santander, Deportivo Alavés, UE Lleida, RCD Espanyol, Tottenham Hotspurs FC, Elche CF, Rayo Vallecano, Getafe CF -in two stages- and FC Barcelona.
