TVE has chosen the most surprising trio on television to give the New Year's Eve Chimes. On the one hand, Ramón García, who returns to Puerta del Sol after returning with the successful Grand Prix. On the other hand, Ana Mena, who makes her debut as a presenter and replaces Ana Obregón and Anne Igartiburu. But the most striking presence is that of Jennifer Hermoso, world soccer champion.
“I am excited and nervous, because Puerta del Sol is a very special place for me, who is from Madrid”says the soccer player, who will appear from the most famous balcony to say goodbye to the year of her World Cup triumph, although that victory was stained by the kiss that Luis Rubiales planted on her during the awards ceremony.
Jennifer and Ramon Garcia have coincided in the presentation of RTVE's Christmas programming. “I'm more nervous after the advice that Ramón García has given me,” says the soccer player. His role on the public network's New Year's Eve will be “to toast with the presenters to this year's successes and to equality in 2024,” according to the Corporation.
The return of the Bilbao presenter to the Campanadas comes after the great reception that the new Grand Prix had in summer. “It overwhelmed us all,” acknowledges Ramón García, who in recent years had been away from the public broadcaster. However, the success of that format has led him to return with a bang.
García's first Campanadas on TVE were in 1995. “Ana Mena was not born and Jennifer… was around”, jokes about his two companions. “In total, I have been in four different decades,” indicated the communicator, a mythical figure (with his cape) in the Puerta del Sol where this time Ana Obregón and Anne Igartiburu will not be there, who have been the last hosts of the end of the year on TVE.
