The Spanish skier Quim Salarich has signed this Monday his second consecutive victory in the European Cup in the finals of the continental circuit held in the Norwegian resort of Narvik, a result that allows him to hang the bronze in this European slalom competition.

After his first victory on Saturday in Levi (Finland), the Catalan conquered the second in the Narvik resort in the finals that serve to put an end to the classification of the slalom specialty, which Salarich has finished in third position.

In this sense, the Rossignol team rider set the best time in the first two sectors in the first round, which helped him achieve a time at the finish line of 47.06, 0.56 ahead of the Swiss Sandro Simonet and 0.61 ahead of the leader of the slalom classification. of the European Cup, the Norwegian Halvor Hilde Gunleiksrud.

In the second round, Salarich perfectly managed his distance from the rest of the competitors and became the winner of a slalom European Cup event for the second time in a row. The rider trained in La Molina finally overtook the Frenchmen Steven Amiez and Hugo Desgrippes.

“We have won again today and this means that we are in a good dynamic. It is a pity that the season is ending because we are feeling very comfortable but this gives us a lot of confidence for next year. We have done two very solid sets and we take home this very good result”, indicated Salarich.

For his part, Juan del Campo (NKEF-EURO) was sixth and finished in the ‘top 10’ of the European Cup classification, while Aingeru Garay (NKEF-LVERD) finished in 16th position.

With his victory, Salarich finished third in the classification of the slalom specialty of the European Cup with a total of 370 points, 27 from the winner of the circuit, the Norwegian Halvor Hilde Gunleiksrud (397 points). With his sixth place, Juan del Campo rose to 10th position (197), and Aingeru Garay finished 54th (26).
