Premier League
The Premier League is the soccer league of First Division of England in which 20 teams play. The teams from Wales can also play, but not those from Scotland, which has its own league. The 20 teams meet twice throughout the competition, one home game each, making the Premier League schedule of 38.
The team that ranks first in the Premier League rankings when all 38 matches are over is the league champion and the last three teams ranked are relegated to the Football League Championship.
The English league is considered one of the most powerful in the world for three reasons: the level of the teams that participate, the large budget that many of them handle and the results of the Premier League, which usually bring surprises due to the great competitiveness that exists. The most prominent teams are Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham.
History of the Premier League
The Premier League was born in 1992, the year in which the first season was played under this new brand created by the clubs that left the Football League, which was the highest English football competition for more than a century (between 1888 and 1992) .
