The best footballer of the Eredivisie is Spanish. He has read well. Neither Tadic nor Stengs nor Berghuis. Not even Ziyech. The Dutch newspaper AD awarded this award to the Catalan midfielder Pol Llonch, whose performances with Willem II earned him the prize for the best footballer in the competition in the months of January and February. The former Espanyol or Girona is key in the center of the field of Tilburg, who currently occupy the fifth position in the Netherlands First Division and fight to play in Europe next year.
Llonch, who arrived at Willem in 2018 after season and a half at Wisla Krakow, is already one of the most valued midfielders of the Eredivisie. The Spanish recover an average of 12 balls per game and is the fifth player who has completed more interceptions this season in the Eredivisie. He is also the second player who has passed the most passes (38) and 103 of his 162 innings have had successful results. The 'Pitbull', as he is nicknamed in Tilburg, is the third player with the most fouls (52), but also one of the most received (36). It is not surprising that Willem II closed in band when Girona tried to sign it last January: the Catalan club reached an agreement with the player, but was not able to satisfy the economic pretensions of the Dutch entity.
45 recoveries of @pol_llonch in just over a minute. ????

Llonch, who in an AS daily interview confessed to believing he had “a sixth sense to intuit where the play is going to end,” has already forgotten his frustrated return to Girona, concentrating all his efforts to finish the Eredivisie in European positions. “This award is for all the work the team has done so far. Thank you for all the people who help us every day! It gives us extra power to continue working the last months of the competition,” Pol Llonch wrote on social networks . During the first two months of 2020, Willem II played seven league games in which he won three wins, two draws and two losses.
