Perisic, positive for coronavirus

Croatia forward Ivan Perisic had given positive for coronavirus in the tests to which the players of the Balkan team were subjected on Saturday night and will be out for the round of 16 match of the European Championship, on Monday, against Spain in Copenhagen.

The Croatian Football Association announced that Perisic, the starter for Zlatko Dalic's team and the scorer of Croatia's first goal in this European Championship, tested positive in the last test carried out on the team.

The Inter footballer was isolated by the medical team of the Croatian team from the rest of the components of the Croatian expedition to comply with all protection measures against the spread of the coronavirus.

Perisic will be isolated for ten days and will not participate, therefore, in the matches of the Croatian national team.

The Croatian Football Association further indicated that the other components of the national team, members of the staff and the delegation, all tested negative.

The Croatian expedition will leave on Sunday morning for Copenhagen to play, on Monday, the match of the round of 16 of the European Championship against Spain.
