Peñarroya hopes to “remove the bad taste in the mouth” against Real Madrid

MADRID 28 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Barça coach, Joan Peñarroya, confessed that his team needs to “remove the bad taste in the mouth” of an irregular path in recent weeks and the defeat on Friday against Red Star, with this Sunday’s duel against Real Madrid in the League Endesa.

“It is evident that the day after not achieving a victory at the Palau is not pleasant, but the best way to remove the bad taste in your mouth is to play quickly. The competition does not give us time to rest or think about the previous result,” He said in statements to the Barça club media prior to the duel in Madrid.

“We also have a special match, such as the Clásicos. A League match against a rival that is achieving better results in recent days, but it is always a different match where previous results matter little,” he added.

Peñarroya recalled the two games this season against Real Madrid, two defeats in “very close” matches, with special mention to the one a month ago in the Euroleague, which required two overtimes. “We expect a competitive match and with all the enthusiasm and conviction,” he noted.

“We think about ourselves, about our things, about the incorporation of Metu and Neto, about our game. The games against them are always different. We know each other. We know that to win these games we have to be very good at many things in the game,” he added.

“We have to play a solid game and we would love to win a game that we know is different and important for everyone. We are already focused and we will put all our will and strength to achieve victory,” he concluded.
