Pedro Rocha expresses the “support and solidarity” of Spanish football to Morocco after the earthquake

MADRID, 9 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha, sent an official letter this Saturday to his counterpart in the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FMRF), Fouzi Lekjaa, in which he expresses “support and solidarity” of Spanish football after the earthquake that has caused more than 1,000 deaths in Morocco.

The head of the federative body expresses in this letter the “deep sadness” with which the news of this disaster is received in Spain, and conveys a message of support to Fouzi Lekjaa. “From the Royal Spanish Football Federation, and on behalf of Spanish football, you can count on all the collaboration you need in these difficult times,” he said.

“Our special relationship makes us feel this disaster much more strongly and with a deep sense of sadness,” the letter continues.

In addition, Rocha conveys to the president of the FMRF the decision adopted that all official state-level football competition matches this weekend be preceded by a minute of silence “in solidarity with the victims of the tragedy”, a tribute which will be repeated in the LaLiga Hypermotion matches this weekend and in the LaLiga EA Sports matches next weekend.
