Patriots player J.C. Jackson is sick and can’t play football.

Patriots CB J.C. Jackson was at the game on Sunday, but he didn’t play and wasn’t watching from the sidelines.

The journalist Adam Schefter of ESPN was told by Jackson’s lawyer, Neil Schwartz, that Jackson is having mental health problems.

Belichick hasn’t said much about Jackson’s health other than the fact that he wasn’t able to participate against the Chiefs.

But on Tuesday, the Patriots said that Jackson has been put on the reserve/non-football sickness list.

A deal on October 5 brought Jackson to New England from the Chargers. His first team was the Patriots, where he played from 2018 to 2021. During the summer of 2022, he signed a five-year, $82.5 million deal to play for the Chargers.

While Jackson was still in New England, he didn’t make it to Germany for a game against the Colts on November 12.

He tells masslive.com that the punishment was because he missed “bed checks” at the squad’s hotel the week before.

Jackson started six games this season for the Patriots and made 25 stops and blocked six passes.

They also said that they picked up quarterback Nathan Rourke from the Jaguars on waivers and added offensive lineman Kevin Harris from the practice squad to the 53-player roster.

In their loss to the Chiefs on Sunday, the Patriots only had two healthy cornerbacks. This was partly because senior J.C. Jackson did not play. “He hadn’t been available,” Belichick told reporters at first. “Leave this at that.”

After the game, coach Bill Belichick wouldn’t say more about Jackson’s absence, but Jackson’s agent told ESPN who the former Pro Bowler is having mental health problems.

Jackson played the whole game, but he didn’t take just one snap. After the game, teammates told reporters that they didn’t know Jackson wouldn’t be able to play until the game started. New England lost 27–17.

Jackson has had a rough season so far; he returned to the Patriots through trade in October. Jackson only went back to Massachusetts following he had a fight with the Chargers.

The former All-Pro, who had 17 interceptions between 2020 and 2021, didn’t go to Germany with the team for the Week 10 game.

He was reportedly put on the bench by the team the week before because he missed bedtime at the team hotel.

The Maryland product missed the start in his Chargers debut because he had surgery on his ankle.

Los Angeles signed him to a five-year, $82.5 million deal in free agency in 2022. He was also briefly benched in the middle of the season.

He could only play in five games because of a knee injury. He was in and out before starting again to start 2023 until Los Angeles made him healthy again and sent him back to the.

New England Patriots fans were confused when CB J.C. Jackson didn’t show up during Sunday’s 27–17 loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.

There was no sign of the six-year pro after being seen within the locker room right before the game. He was substituted by rookie DB Alex Austin.

When the game was over, Jackson’s agent revealed that the reason he wasn’t available had been because he was having mental health problems. It’s not likely that the Patriots would fire Belichick right at the conclusion of the season.

On Sunday, defensive back Kevin Harris took the open spot on the roster after being promoted from the practice squad before the game.

The 22-year-old played well against the Chiefs, making three stops, but he needs to be more disciplined after getting two penalties.

The 23-year-old made an instant impact by carrying the ball on four occasions for 25 yards and a scoring run while Rhamondre Stevenson was still out with an ankle injury he got in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers.

To make up for Jackson’s loss, the Patriots will probably turn to Austin, a seventh-round pick in 2023, for their Week 16 game against the Denver Broncos.

Belichick has been with the Patriots for a long time and has led them to six Super Bowls.  Because of this, Robert Kraft and everyone else of the ownership group would probably treat Belichick with care and talk to him before taking any action.
