Real Oviedo extended their winning streak in Santo Domingo, where they added their fifth consecutive victory against an Alcorcón team who took the lead with a goal from Oscar Rivas but were unable to endure the result in the final minutes, in which the Asturian team turned to the scoreboard with two goals from Hugo Rama and the Brazilian Matheus Aias.
After consummating relegation last day, Alcorcón reunited with his fans with honor and professionalism as the only aspects at stake, something that, far from discouraging him, made him leave with one more gear than Oviedo.
The greater energy that Alcorcón showed once again contrasted with the lack of confidence that the pottery club has been offering in defense all season, which on a couple of occasions was about to mess it up with two actions by its goalkeeper, Cristian Rivero, and a central , David Fernández, who did not know how to bail out two balls that brought danger to their own goal.
The Asturian team did not show much of a leading role with their game and was overtaken in the first half by Alcorcón, who knew how to stop the combinational game of Viti and Borja Sánchez, who always looked for Javi Mier and Borja Bastón, who were not very participative in the last meters.
The one that was more dangerous in attack was Alcorcón, especially through Xisco Jiménez, who on several occasions put the visiting defense to the test and was able to score in several actions, the clearest being a header at the far post that crashed on the net side.
In the second half, Alcorcón’s dominance continued and, at 63 minutes, they went ahead on the scoreboard with a goal from the young center-back Oscar Rivas, who found a ball after a badly defended rebound from Oviedo and crossed his shot before the exit of Joan Femenias.
The match changed in the 78th minute, when Alcorcón was left with ten players due to the expulsion of Uruguayan midfielder Gio Zarfino, who received a second yellow card for a foul on Pierre Cornud.
That numerical advantage on the pitch gave wings to Oviedo, who went on the attack with everything and found the equalizer, the work of Matheus Aias after a good individual play that culminated in a crossed shot with his left leg inside the area almost falling to the ground.
Oviedo’s comeback was completed in the 90th minute after a move started by Jony Montiel, who combined with Borja Bastón and the latter, at Hugo Rama’s run, put a ball to the Galician, who crossed his shot against Cristian Rivero.
With this result, Oviedo sits in sixth place in the standings, in promotion positions, and Alcorcón remains sunk as bottom seven points behind Fuenlabrada.
