Otaegui takes the lead in the second round of the Andalucía Masters

The Spanish golfer Adrián Otaegui took command this Friday of the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, a tournament belonging to the DP World Tour where he defends his title, on a second day at the Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande in which he rose to the lead with 69 strokes.

The champion, who started third on Thursday, confirmed his intentions to defend his title on the San Roque route, a new location for the tournament in its ninth edition. Otaegui took the lead in the last two holes, with a total of -9, tied with the Frenchman Jeong Weon Ko and the South African Louis de Jager.

The Englishman James Morrison, who came out on top this Friday, fell 18 positions with a +4 that leaves him with -4 in total. The leading trio has New Zealander Daniel Hillier one shot away, while there are six golfers tied at -7, two behind the leading group of Otaegui. In addition to the current champion, the Spanish options include Nacho Elvira, 19th with -4, and Rafa Cabrera Bello, -3.

The US Open champion, the American Wyndham Clark, continues to look for his place in Sotogrande, after a Friday in the par of the Cadiz course that leaves him at a total of -2. The nine-time PGA champion, also American Matt Kuchar, is at -1.
