Official: James, to Everton

James Rodríguez is now officially a new Everton player. The Colombian traveled to England on Wednesday of last week, underwent a medical examination and it was not until this Monday that He signed a two-year contract with the option of a third with the team coached by Ancelotti, the coach who made him shine at Madrid in 2014-15 and who led him to Bayern in 2017. James leaves the white club six years after signing in exchange for 80 million from Monaco and embarks on his first adventure in the Premier, the fifth European league in which it will play after the Portuguese (Porto), the French (Monaco), the German (Bayern) and the Spanish. Madrid will enter around 25 million euros.

James went to Madrid as a ‘galactic’ transfer in 2014 with Ancelotti, after marveling at the World Cup, not to mention Zidane and see the last games of last season in the stands after the player himself asked not to be called up. With the departure of the Italian coach in 2015, it began to fade and lose importance until it was residual. First with Benítez, with whom, already in the preseason, he started with his foot changed by not advancing his vacation as requested by the then white coach (he played with him 56.5% of the minutes) and later, with Zidane, who in the 2016-17 season, before yielding to Bayern, only used 33% of the minutes, although he was a basic piece in that Unit B that drove him to conquer the League.

With the arrival of the French coach to Madrid, his downward line clearly began. In 2017, Ancelotti came to his first rescue and joined his Bayern. The Colombian signed a two-year loan. The Italian was fired in October of that year, but ended up having a remarkable season with Heynckes on the bench. The German knew how to revitalize him. Then Kovac came and the storm clouds returned. It was the player who asked the German club not to exercise his purchase option at the end of his assignment to return to Madrid and find a destination, aware that with Zidane he did not have simple things. Atlético appeared and when he had a foot and a half at Wanda, Simeone's 3-7 against Madrid in preseason closed the transfer doors and plunged him into deep discontent. This season he only played 728 minutes (14 games) in which he scored one goal and gave two assists. His last game was on June 21 against Real (78 '). Since then he has been a substitute for three games and, by his own request, he stayed in the stands for the last six games. Now he's back with Ancelotti, the coach who knew how to get his best version out of Madrid.
