Nuria Párrizas overcomes her debut in Palermo with a comeback

MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Nuria Párrizas surpassed this Tuesday her debut in the tournament in Palermo (Italy), in the ATP 250 category and which is played on clay, after overcoming a tough match (4-6, 7-5 and 7-5) against the American Asia Muhammad, a priori affordable rival, but who stood up to the Granada.

The Spanish, number 54 in the world, recovers her smile and wins again after chaining five consecutive games losing, four of them in her first duel of the tournament. As was the case in Lausanne (Switzerland), his rival in Palermo had a much lower ranking, although this time Párrizas did pull through the match, albeit suffering more than expected.

The Granada needed about three hours to get rid of the number 198 in the world, who raised a very demanding match. The first set was clearly won by the American, more consistently, after breaking serve to the Spanish in the sixth game. Later, she did not fail and closed the set 6-4.

Párrizas gave more war in the second set, convinced not to extend his losing streak. In a more even second set and with the two tennis players hitting great, the usual trend was the reciprocal ‘breaks’, equalizing the contest in the tenth game. The 31-year-old Spaniard used experience and skill to win this second set.

The third and final set required Párrizas to be at his best, with the American believing in victory. Same script as the second set, with the Granada-born breaking Muhammad’s serve in the eleventh game, to then close the match with her serve and another 7-5. In the next round she is already waiting for the Austrian Julia Grabher, number 145 in the world.
