Nadal repeats 74-stroke round and climbs to 7th place in the Balearic Islands

Rafa Nadal traced this Sunday the 74-stroke card that he signed on Saturday on the first day of the Balearic Championship and climbed two places in the general classification, to seventh, after the second day of competition at the Maioris field (Mallorca). The Manacor tennis player, who started this Sunday in 10th place, was able to finish even higher after adding a birdie and making par on 14 of the 18 holes of the course, but the bogeys on 11, 16 and 17 weighed down on him.

With +4, Nadal, who plays against professionals with an amateur license and a handicap plus 0.3, is seven hits behind the leader, Federico Páez, and just two behind the top-5, who now scores with +2 Antoni Ferrer. The number two in the ATP ranking completed a round that was more than remarkable for him and remained for a long time in the average of the tournament, on a day in which the hole in one that Odette Font achieved at 11 stood out.

This Monday, in the last lap, Nadal will once again enjoy the Balearic sun while trying to finish the highest possible this regional championship.
