Mourinho trusts that Bale shortens deadlines

José Mourinho, Tottenham coach, is confident that Gareth Bale will shorten the recovery periods from the injury he is dragging and that, in principle, he will not allow him to make his Spurs debut until mid-October.

The English club confirmed that Bale will be out until after the national team break due to the knee injury he suffered playing for Wales, his national team.

“I don't know when Gareth will be back. All I know is that his motivation is very high. He is very happy to be here,” Mourinho told the London Evening Standard newspaper.

“When a player has this motivation, many times you can shorten the recovery period and be ready to play earlier,” he added.

Bale arrived this past week at Tottenham from Real Madrid and will spend a year on loan at the London club. The Welshman already played for Tottenham between 2007 and 2013 (when he signed for Real Madrid). The Spurs' first game after the national team break is October 17 against West Ham at Tottenham Hotspiur Stadium.
