The situation of Hakim Ziyech with the selection of Morocco seems more and more desperate. The midfielder of Chelsea he has been at odds with national coach Vahid Halilhodzic for some time and now seems to have completely messed it up with president Fouzi Lekjaa as well.

The president of the Moroccan Football Association has expressed his dissatisfaction with Ziyech’s attitude on a local radio station. “We expected Hakim to be a player who would lead the national team and lead it to success, not a player who hopes to get the ball effortlessly,” Lekjaa said, adding: “I don’t want to go into detail.” Coach Halilhodzic accuses Ziyech, among other things, of being late, refusing to train and refusing to play.

Ziyech’s name has come up frequently in recent weeks, when it emerged that he had not been summoned by the ‘Atlas Lions’ to participate in the Africa Cup. Already in 2017 Ziyech was ignored by the then national coach Hervé Renard.
