Montse Tomé: “The game plan went well, we were able to score more goals”

MADRID, 31 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The national women’s soccer coach, Montse Tomé, celebrated a “match plan” well carried out by her players in this Friday’s 0-2 against Denmark on the third day of the qualifying phase for Euro 2025.

“The game plan went well. We had analyzed Denmark and we expected what they did with that 4-4-2 defensive structure. Then they changed in attack and found the spaces very well and then the pressure was very good,” he said to the media of the Royal Spanish Football Federation.

The Spanish coach celebrated her team’s good game at the Vejle Stadion, with a 0-2 lead at half-time and knowing how to face the dangers of a Denmark that is the biggest rival within Group 2. “The team’s performance is very positive. Also in the set pieces. It is something very important in the game that we work on and that is giving us results. They have been two good goals for them and for the whole team,” he stated.

“At home they have done what we expected and facing the return we are already imagining what they can do because there may be different peculiarities but we are going to go out with the same intensity with and without the ball. We hope to score more goals, which today we were able to score more and continue like this,” he added, thinking about Tuesday’s duel in Tenerife, with the ticket to the EURO already in hand.
