Messi and Cristiano star in a ‘last dance’ in Arabia

The double from the Portuguese and the goal from the Argentine stand out in a duel that PSG won against the Riyahd Season team

MADRID, 19 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo met again this Thursday in the duel between PSG and the Riyadh Season Team, a combination of players from Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, in a friendly match (4-5) at the King Fahd stadium in Arabia that left a brace for the Portuguese star and a goal for the recent world champion.

The last time that the two players, seven and five Ballon d’Ors in their showcases, met on a soccer field was on December 8, 2020 in a Champions League match between Barcelona and Juventus that ended with a brace for the Portuguese player and victory (0-3) for those from Turin.

In Riyadh, at the El King Fahd International Stadium, the clash left an exciting duel that began with Messi’s early goal, taking advantage of a Neymar cross at 3′. However, after half an hour of play, Keylor knocked down Cristiano in the area and the Portuguese signed the penalty draw.

Although Marquinhos put the Parisians ahead again on 43′, Bernat’s sending off and Neymar’s missed penalty gave wings to a Cristiano Ronaldo who, in his triumphant debut after signing for Al-Nassr 20 days ago, signed his double before of the break taking advantage of his own rejection after a header to the post.

Already in the second half, the Spanish Sergio Ramos put PSG ahead again, but Hyun Soo Jang equalized again for the Saudi team, just before Ronaldo’s substitution after the hour of play. Kylian Mbappé and Ekitiké signed the sentence before reaching 80′, although the Saudi effort ended up making up the result through Talisca (4-5).
