Memphis double against Belgium and beats Kluivert

Memphis Depay has scored a brace with the Netherlands team in the Nations League match against Belgium at King Baudouin in Brussels.

After Steven Bergwijn’s great goal after receiving from fellow Barça player Frenkie de Jong, Memphis made it 0-2 in the 51st minute by escaping on a quick counterattack and beating Simon Mignolet with a cross shot.

Memphis stood alone against the Belgian goalkeeper after Davy Klassen stole a ball in the center circle and Steven Berghuis fired a precise through ball to the Barça striker.

Already in minute 66, after Denzel Dumfries made it 0-3, Memphis got the fourth by controlling a ball headed by Daley Blind and shooting Mignolet.

With this double Memphis reaches 41 in 78 international games and surpasses Patrick Kluivert (40) in third place in the ranking of top scorers in the history of the Dutch national team. He is only surpassed by Robin van Persie (50) and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (42).
