Marc Márquez: “Mugello is always a very demanding weekend”

MADRID, 6 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) has assured that the Italian Grand Prix, which takes place next weekend, is always “very demanding”, in addition to stressing that they should take advantage of the appointment in Mugello, a track ” fast and fluent”, to “keep trying to take steps forward.

“It’s time to get back to work. We start in Mugello and it’s always a very demanding weekend there, with a fast and flowing track. I’ve had some big fights there in the past and taking advantage of the top speed of a MotoGP bike in the straight line is always nice,” he said in statements provided by his team.

The man from Cervera has been alternating gym and motocross training to prepare for the next three weeks of competition. “Of course we have to see what is possible this weekend and see what we can do together with the team to get the most out of the bike and keep trying to make steps forward,” he said.

For his part, his teammate, Joan Mir, hopes to get a good result on a track where he has achieved two third places. “It seems like it’s been a long time since we last got on MotoGP, but I’ve been able to ride and train well during this time off,” he underlined.

The Spaniard highlighted the “new opportunities” that are presented to them before the mid-season break, with Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. “I want to reach my maximum during this triplet. I’m looking forward to spending a lot of time on the bike, because I think we can continue to progress and discover what we’re missing. Mugello is the first of three consecutive races, I got on the podium there in 2021 and it’s a spectacular circuit to drive. Maximum effort, maximum concentration and maximum determination”, he concluded.
