Marc Márquez: “I have to continue working on my feeling with the bike, I still don’t have it 100%”

Joan Mir: “I started with the Montmeló base and it was difficult for me to turn”

MADRID, 8 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) stated this Friday that he must “continue working” on his ‘feel’ “with the bike” during the San Marino Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the MotoGP World Championship, because “not yet” He has it “100%” despite finishing sixth in the combined ranking of the first free practice sessions.

“It has been a positive day because we have achieved our goal for the weekend: qualifying among the top 12. I have to continue working on my feeling with the bike, I still don’t have it at 100%, but we were able to make the time per lap,” Márquez declared to the Repsol Honda team’s official media.

“At first I didn’t get the feedback I wanted from the bike, the tires and the track, but we worked to improve it. In the last part of the afternoon session, I really pushed to get a good time and we were able take a step, especially with used tires. Then I did a good lap behind Dani [Pedrosa]which was very fast,” added the Cervera driver.

JOAN MIR: “I STARTED WITH THE MONTMELÓ BASE AND IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN”

His teammate, Joan Mir, also analyzed the results at the Misano circuit. “The day started a little more difficult than we thought. I started with the Montmeló base and it was difficult for me to turn, but we continued working and the sensations have improved,” he commented on the matter.

“We have made a big step and I think I could have reached 31.7 if we had managed to do a full lap without yellow flags, etc. So, if you can catch another driver by the slipstream, you gain even more time and can aspire to be among the 10 first,” Mir added.

“Our situation is better than what the results show and in general we take it as a positive day because we have understood many things,” concluded the pilot from Palma de Mallorca after being twenty-first.
