Marc Márquez: “Above all with aerodynamics, the bike changes a lot”

Joan Mir: “Montmeló is always very critical in terms of grip”

MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) stated this Friday that his bike “changes a lot” on the Montmeló track “especially with aerodynamics”, after being nineteenth on the first day of the MotoGP category at the Catalonia Grand Prix, eleventh round of the Motorcycle World Championship.

“Today it was about focusing on ourselves, I didn’t feel bad on the bike. In the morning, I made the same mistake as in Austria when comparing the new parts; especially with the aerodynamics, the bike changes a lot,” he declared. Márquez to the official media of his team.

“In the afternoon we worked on our base and on our rhythm; I feel good, but we are far from the lead. Tomorrow the objective is to reach our best level and continue working,” the Cervera driver finally predicted.

JOAN MIR: “MONTMELÓ IS ALWAYS VERY CRITICAL REGARDING GRIP”

His partner at Repsol Honda, Joan Mir, also spoke. “We expected it to be difficult this weekend because Montmeló is a circuit that is always very critical in terms of grip, the curves are very long and you have to manage skidding with the accelerator”, he assessed in this regard.

“This year is the aspect in which we have worked the most, so we have to continue doing it here as well. I spent the day working on the set-up of the bike. The objective for tomorrow is to improve the sensations to be able to push more”, Mir concluded.
