Lugo announced on Tuesday the signing of Luis César Sampedro, who returns to the club three seasons later to take over the bench again, this time replacing Mehdi Nafti, fired last Sunday.
The Galician coach, who last season was at the helm of Deportivo after the cessation of Juan Antonio Albacete Anquela and the arrival of Fernando Vázquez, will debut next Monday against Fuenlabrada at the Anxo Carro, where Nafti remained undefeated.
The Vilagarcía de Arousa coach was in charge of the rojiblanca entity in the 2016/17 season, in which he achieved the best classification in the club's history in the silver category.
At the conclusion of that campaign, he declined the renewal proposal made by Lugo and signed for Valladolid.
The rojiblanco team highlights its “extensive experience, with more than three hundred games in the category.”
Luis César has committed to the Galician club for the remainder of the season and one more and will be presented this Wednesday at the Anxo Carro.
