MADRID, 25 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish Lucas Eguibar is second in the ranking of the SBX World Cup circuit and will fight this Sunday for his second Crystal Globe in Mt.St.Anne (Canada).
Eguibar put pressure on this Saturday in search of a new title with a third place in the penultimate test of the maximum FIS circuit held in Quebec. The Movistar SBX Team athlete cut points with the leader, the German Martin Noerl (GER), and confirmed himself as one of the great candidates to be champion.
The Basque, who already achieved a Crystal Globe in the 2014-2015 season, made a third place that was close to being better to put pressure on a Noerl who could only be seventh. Eguibar remains at 24 points ahead of the final assault also at Mt.St.Anne.
“Very happy with the race, it was very close. At the beginning it is a flat and narrow circuit where I only focused on not making mistakes and waiting for the lower area, very fast and with some jumps that I am good at absorbing”, said in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Federation of Winter Sports.
“The table was also flying today, 24 points for the general, we can do it and it is a goal within reach, it had never been so close,” he added, confident that he could come back.
