Lucas Eguibar achieves his first podium of the season in the Snowboard Cross World Cup

The Spanish rider Lucas Eguibar has finished in third position in the Snowboard Cross World Cup event held in Les Deux Alpes (France), and thus achieves his first podium of the 2023-24 season.

The San Sebastian native, current World Cup overall runner-up, double Olympic diploma and member of the Movistar SBX Team, put in a great performance in the French season that led him to finish third, only behind the Canadian Eliot Grondin, winner of the event. , and the Austrian Alessandro Haemmerle. The Swiss Kalle Koblet failed a few meters from the start and lost any chance of a medal.

Also participating in the test were the Spaniards Antoni Toledo, who finished 35th, one tenth off the cut; Álvaro Romero, who was 43rd; and Bernat Ribera, who could not start.

“I'm happy with today. In the final one hit me, I lost a lot of speed and I couldn't catch him anymore. A shame, since at the bottom I could have attacked a lot. But happy for third place. Last year I started fourth and now we are starting better like this. We are going for everything this season,” said Eguibar. The next test will be in Cervinia (Italy) on December 15 and 16.

For her part, the Spanish Queralt Castellet, current Olympic runner-up, is already in Secret Garden (China), where she won her historic silver medal, to compete in the halfpipe World Cup event.
