MADRID, 27 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Polish power forward Liliana Banaszak, 24 years old and 1.86 meters tall, has become a new Movistar Estudiantes player this Thursday for the 2024/25 season, as reported by the Madrid club itself through its website.

Born on March 22, 2000 in Gniezno (Poland), Banaszak will make the leap to the Liga Femenina Endesa after playing her entire career in her native country. “From a very young age she has played in several teams in the Polish league, rising to some of the top division: INEA AZS Poznan (2019-2022) and KGHM BC Polkowice, the Euroleague team in which she has played the last two seasons and with which she has won the national league,” Estudiantes said in its press release.

“She has averaged 9.2 points and a PIR of 10.8 in her home league this season and 3.7 points in the Euroleague. In fact, she faced one of her future teammates, Angela Salvadores, this season as they both met in Group B of the Euroleague Women,” the note added.

Estudiantes also stressed that “in terms of her international experience, the Polish interior has been a regular member of her national team for years, from the youth categories to the senior team, in which she has participated since 2022.”

David Gallego, Estudiantes coach, described the Polish power forward as “a player with experience” due to her role in the Euroleague and who will join the college to “give the team versatility, mobility and physical power in the paint.”
