AL SHAMAL (QATAR), 24 Nov. (dpa/EP) –
The German soccer team hopes to be able to count on Leroy Sané in the second match of the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar, against Spain this Sunday, as confirmed by coach Hansi Flick on Thursday.
“Leroy is back in training. That’s positive,” Flick said of the 26-year-old attacker, who sat out due to knee problems in Wednesday’s game against Japan, which ended in a 2-1 German defeat.
Flick regretted the absence of Sané, whom he considers “a differential player” and that “he can turn a game around on his own with his qualities”, so returning to the ‘Red’ can be a plus for a four-time world champion very forced after their defeat against the Japanese team.
