Leipzig announce the signing of André Silva

Leipzig made official the signing of Portuguese international striker André Silva, until now at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old Portuguese attacker signed until 2026. According to German media, Leipzig, second in the Bundesliga, paid 23 million euros for the player.

André Silva, former player of Sevilla and Milan, among others, was the second top scorer in the last Bundesliga, with 28 goals, behind the Polish Robert Lewandoski (Bayern Munich) who achieved 41 and thus broke the mythical record of 40 that it boasted the legendary Gerd Müller.

With his team, Portugal, eliminated in the round of 16 of Euro 2020 by Belgium (1-0), André Silva has 16 goals in 42 games played. At Leipzig he will act under Jesse Marsch, replacement for Julian Nagelsmann, Bayern's new coach.
