Leganés fails to take the lead and Racing stops Sporting

MADRID, 7 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Leganés could not (0-0) with Real Oviedo this Saturday in the tenth matchday of LaLiga Hypermotion, in search of leadership in the Second Division, while Sporting de Gijón suffered a slowdown (3-2) to its good streak in his visit to Racing de Santander.

The Madrid team met an Oviedo team that did not want to lose its best moment of the season, after two consecutive victories. Both teams fought for control of the match and, in the middle of the tie, there was a clear chance for each. Diego García had a ball hit the post for the locals and Borja Bastón, in what was his home recently, was able to give Oviedo the victory.

With the point, Leganés is not able to climb to the lead, at least provisionally, and they remain second, one point behind Espanyol and tied with Real Zaragoza, with one more game than both. Meanwhile, the Oviedo team will have to wait until Sunday to see if they avoid returning to the relegation spots.

At Sardinero, Sporting lost like it had not done since the third matchday, leaving its position in the ‘Top 6’ up in the air. The Asturian team was trailed by a great Racing team, which took the lead twice but a double from Gaspar kept the visitors going. Ekain, in the 83rd minute, sealed a classic of Spanish football, which began with the shock of the blow to the face that left Arana out.

Meanwhile, Huesca hit it again, this time against an Eldense team that took advantage of El Alcoraz’s bad streak. The local team, unable to win at home, gave in to a direct rival, to stay in the red zone, with a goal from Mario Soberón in stoppage time. The defeat ended the era of Cuco Ziganda on the Huesca bench, dismissed shortly after the final whistle.
