Girona raises its head and Sevilla shows it over the horn

Míchel’s team won (0-1) in Cádiz and Mendilibar’s team tied (2-2) against Rayo in the 96th minute

Mallorca forgave Valencia (1-1)

MADRID, 7 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Girona beat Cádiz (0-1) this Saturday on the ninth day of LaLiga EA Sports to regain its triumphant march at the top of the table, while Sevilla saved a draw (2-2) against Rayo Vallecano in discount and Mallorca was better than Valencia in another distribution of points (1-1).

The Catalan team continues to rub shoulders with the giants Real Madrid and Barça despite their defeat last week against the whites. Míchel’s men did not miss their visit to Cádiz to regain the path to victory, despite having to sweat against a tight rival.

Sergio González’s men were left with one less after 10 minutes, due to a direct red card in a dangerous tackle by Darwin Machís, but they did not throw in the towel in their defensive exercise and in search of the point after conceding the 0-1. Aleix García was the one who managed to break the yellow wall in the 59th minute.

With no gaps, Savinho did not work for the visiting team and tried his luck with long-range shots, but there was little to scratch in the first half. Girona struck with that good goal from their captain but Nuevo Mirandilla did not give up and ended up making the visitors retreat, almost equalizing with Javi Hernández in stoppage time.

Girona is second with 22 points, waiting for what FC Barcelona does this Sunday in Granada, while Cádiz, with its fifth straight day without a win, is beginning to lose cushion with respect to the relegation zone. Sevilla appeared in that red zone but saved at least one point in the last moments.

A header from Youssef En-Nesyri five seconds before the final whistle saved José Luis Mendilibar’s team from a team break with very bad feelings. Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán once again pushed his team, but Rayo was better in the first half and achieved a 0-2 lead through Óscar Valentín and Álvaro García.

Sevilla reacted after the restart and a great goal from outside the area by Sow ended up sounding like a riot in the Pizjuán. ‘Mendi’ burned ships and, at the horn, after the chances of Lukebakio and Rafa Mir, En-Nesyri’s gliding appeared on a corner kick that Rakitic placed. A high that only postpones the urgency of improving for the Andalusians, while preventing Rayo from approaching the European positions in the table.

One at a time it is enough for Valencia to stay away from problems, with a squad without signings and that lives off the quarry exploited by Rubén Baraja. The ‘che’ team had to suffer in Son Moix, but a great goal from Diego López before the break equaled Dani Rodríguez’s early goal. Mallorca pushed with the opening whistle and did so even more in the second half.

Javier Aguirre’s men ran into Mamardashvili and the post, missing a good opportunity to achieve the second victory of the season. Mallorca works, as expected in the continuity of last year and the reinforcements of this one, but they lack a goal, seeing that the relegation zone has them within reach, Valencia is calmer.
