A PRESTIGIOUS TOURNAMENT

Champions of Europe, America and the world are part of the list of 39 teams from 13 countries that have participated in the Festa d’Elx. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Valencia, Athletic Club, Atlético de Madrid, Porto, Estudiantes de La Plata, Independiente de Avellaneda, Vasco da Gama or Benfica are just some of the teams.

Since its first edition, the trophy itself has undergone changes, from the trophy of the first decade to the characteristic tabala with the city’s coat of arms that gave way to a trophy inspired by the palm grove or the replica of the Lady of Elche in silver, which has been the protagonist in recent years.

The last edition served to release a trophy, inspired by the traditions of the city. Elche is, with 28 titles, the great dominator of a trophy in which it has participated in all its editions. It is followed by Levante, with four, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, with three, and Villarreal, Real Murcia and Almería, with two.

An edition of the Festa d’Elx has taken fifteen teams, including Independiente, Ferencvaros, Vasco Da Gama, Estudiantes de La Plata, the Morocco team, Deportivo and Benfica. In these 49 editions, the biggest win was the 8-0 win that Elche endorsed Racing Strasbourg in 1962.

The great players in the history of Elche CF hold the records in the Festa D’Elx trophy: Iborra, Llompart and Romero are the footballers with the most appearances, with 15 games, and Ángel Romero, the all-time top scorer, with eight goals.
