LaLiga creates “LaLiga Summer Tour” to organize summer tours to the US and Mexico

MADRID, 16 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga has announced this Thursday the launch of “LaLiga Summer Tour”, a new platform created to organize the tours of its clubs in the summer window, within the international development strategy of the Spanish competition and the objective of bringing all the passion of LaLiga to its fans around the world.

The objective of the platform is to develop key markets for the growth of the competition in an organized way and with a long-term strategic impact. “LaLiga Summer Tour” will make its first stop in 2023 in Mexico and the United States, with the participation of 4 historic LaLiga clubs. Relevent Sports will act as promoter and will be in charge of the organization, logistics and marketing of the tour that the Spanish teams will do on North American soil, and will have the support of LaLiga North America.

“The launch of the ‘LaLiga Summer Tour’ represents LaLiga’s desire to create a platform that allows us to take the competition and its teams to different parts of the world, and in turn gives all our clubs the opportunity to collectively develop the business in certain priority markets,” said Óscar Mayo, executive general director of LaLiga.

For his part, the CEO of LaLiga North America, Boris Gartner, also referred to the platform as an “opportunity” for the development of the “brand”. “The United States and Mexico represent an important opportunity for LaLiga and its clubs in the development of the brand and the business, especially with a view to the FIFA World Cup in 2026. The commitment to be present in this region for the next three years will help a lot to grow the competition and get closer to the local fans with all the emotion and passion that LaLiga has”, he commented.

“LaLiga Summer Tour” complements the strategy that LaLiga North America has been implementing since 2018 and that has managed to develop the market in a comprehensive way, growing the competition and the clubs in North America. The tour will take place during the first week of August, and the teams and cities where the friendly matches will be played will be announced over the next few days.

The tour has the support of ESPN and SKY, the official LaLiga broadcasters in the United States and Mexico respectively, who will be responsible for the production of the matches. In this way, fans will be able to exclusively enjoy these matches on the platforms where they already have access to watch LaLiga.
