LaLiga has formally requested the Competition Committee to suspend tomorrow's Sabadell-Alcorcón after the detection of nine new positives in the PCR tests to which the staff and coaching staff were subjected. The championship announced that of the new cases, two of them are soccer players. Now, the ball is on the roof of the committee that must decide if the game is postponed or played on the scheduled date (this Wednesday 21 from 9:30 pm in Nova Creu Alta).
This past weekend the meeting between Alcorcón and Ponferradina was already suspended, due to the contagion of three soccer players and a member of the staff. The idea of the club was to play the week-long day normally, but the tests have further complicated their situation and the employer has acted ex officio to request the postponement.
The body led by Javier Tebas explains that following the Unified Training and Competition Protocol more tests were carried out on the members of the entity. All those affected are isolated, although LaLiga wants to be cautious in the face of the outbreak and the impossibility of Alcorcón to travel in the last hours. It should be remembered that the rule indicates that clubs have the right to postpone two games per season in the Second Division, which Alcorcón would have already fulfilled, although the championship has not confirmed whether it has exhausted the opportunities.
