Kobe Bryant dies in a helicopter crash

Gianna, one of her daughters, also died in the accident

MADRID, 26 (SportsFinding)

The legendary NBA player Kobe Bryant, winner of five champion rings and double Olympic champion, died Sunday in a helicopter crash, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and three other people, in Calabasas (California).

As the Los Angeles Times announced, Bryant was among the members of the accident that also advanced in the social networks the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, with an investigation underway. Shortly afterwards it was also confirmed that one of his four daughters, Gianna, died in the accident.

Bryant, 41, born in Philadelphia, ended his successful career in April 2016 after playing 20 seasons in the Lakers. He is considered one of the best players in history, five-time NBA champion and fourth historical scorer, recently surpassed by LeBron James.

The accident took place around 10:00 a.m. local time, at Las Virgenes Road and Agoura Road, in a small mountainous area and in the middle of foggy conditions. The device hit the ground and was immediately engulfed in flames, which made it difficult for firefighters and toilets to intervene.

The tragic news comes a day after Bryant was on everyone's lips again, since LeBron, playing his second season with the Lakers, passed him on the scoreboard. “You keep taking basketball further. My full respect,” Bryant himself put on Twitter less than 20 hours ago, after being overcome.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928) and now James (33,655) are ahead of the 'Black Mamba', a different and vintage player in the gold and purple franchise. Bryant said goodbye to the orange ball on April 13, 2016, a farewell he signed with 60 points in the Laker victory over Utah Jazz.
