Klopp: “The title is unlikely, but it is possible”

MADRID, 17 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp assured that winning the Premier League is “unlikely, but it is possible” after his triumph against Southampton (1-2) on the penultimate day of the English championship and assured that Manchester City has more advantage when playing at home against Aston Villa.

“The unlikely title? “Of course it’s unlikely because City are playing at home against Aston Villa, who also play on Thursday. It will be difficult against Burnley, they are fighting to survive,” Klopp told the BBC.

“But it’s football. I think City became champions [en 2019] it was for 11 millimeters. If someone wants us to be champions, first we have to win and then Aston Villa get a point against Manchester City”, explained the German coach.

“It’s possible, not likely but possible. That’s enough,” Klopp said on this subject before assessing the performance of his pupils on Tuesday. “The way we played with nine changes is outstanding. I saw sensational performances from players without rhythm. The mentality after being 1-0 down was good because we were a little bit upset but then we calmed down,” he analyzed.

“We scored a wonderful goal, we were never out of the game but it was open again. In the second half we kept going, we had moments where we didn’t control the ball well enough and then we scored to make it 2-1 and it ended up being a normal match. Everything worked thanks to the players and if it hadn’t worked, 1000% would have been my responsibility”, he commented.
