A sailing week begins in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra), a claim for Don Juan Carlos. The King Emeritus plans to land in Spain this Monday, September 25, to attend the 8th edition of the championship named after him, King Juan Carlos I-El Corte Inglés Master, according to Europa Press. The competition will be held between September 29, 30 and October 1 in the Pontevedra estuary. This fourth visit to Galician lands by the former head of state coincides with a trip by Don Felipe to La Toja, in O Grove.
Juan Carlos, 85 years old, regattas bring him luck. He loves to return to Galicia “many times.” He already advanced it. Therefore, he does not miss the opportunity. He goes sailing on the Bribón 500, enjoys his friends, is at the house of Pedro Campos, president of the Real Club Náutico de Sanxenxo, sees his daughter Elena and shares seafood delicacies from the Piliña fishmonger, from the Portonovo food market. Furthermore, he has already taken the measure of the format of his trips: family-friendly, with sports content, discreet and low profile. Don Juan Carlos will come to Madrid on October 31 to congratulate his granddaughter Leonor on her 18th birthday.
