Jordi Ribera: “It will be a very difficult European Championship, but with the added prize of an Olympic place”

MADRID, 17 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish men's handball coach, Jordi Ribera, has warned that the European Championship in Germany, which will be held between January 10 and 28, 2024, will be “very difficult due to the calendar”, but has highlighted that it comes “with a very big added prize like the Olympic square”.

“It is a bit of an extension of all the activities that we have been doing, taking into account that now we really have a competition that is very important, the European Championship, which will also be very difficult due to the calendar we have but with a very large added prize, which is that Olympic place that is at stake in addition to the championship,” he said in statements provided by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM).

The Catalan coach will offer this Monday at 1:00 p.m. the pre-list for the event, made up of 20 players, who will carry out a first preparatory stage in Ceuta between December 26 and 30.

“We are going to have a first list of 20 players, who are going to participate in the first activity that goes from 26 to 30; for the International Tournament there may be 19, and then there will be the 18 that will be in the European,” he said.
